History

The company was founded in 1971 by Robert Miller who still has an active involvement in the business. His vast experience of all types of slating and tiling coupled with real commercial flair and an ability to motivate his team resulted in steady growth over the years.

Throughout this the key focus for the company has been on delivering a high quality, cost effective service. The loyalty shown to his team at RS Miller Roofing is reflected in very low staff turnover providing real depth of experience in all sections of the company.

The Present

2017 is an important year for the company as the company has undergone evolutionary changes. The ownership of the company has been expanded with the inclusion of more Directors and Managers, this has been achieved through a scheme involving no external finance thereby protecting the solid financial reputation of the company.

As part of this there have been key appointments and the current board comprises the following members :-

Gareth Little – Managing Director

After working in all operational areas of the core slating and tiling business for 20 years and having very successfully taken the role of Contracts Director for the last 3 years Gareth has assumed the role of MD.

This has been done in recognition of his capabilities and with a clear view to the long term future of the company.

Simon Green – Commercial Director

Simon continues to be key to the development of the company and works very closely with Gareth and the other directors to ensure continued success. His considerable experience and his collaborative approach to work benefit the company enormously and he has close a working relationship with many of our main customers.

Julian Ash – Finance Director

Julian formulated the management buyout in 2017 and relinquished his role as Managing Director to create the ideal environment for orderly succession. A commercially focused Chartered Accountant with clear strategic ambitions for the continued development of the company.

David Jones – Director Flat Roofing

David has successfully run this division which also encompasses domestic work for over 20 years. His commitment to high standards and his excellent customer relations mean a very high level of repeat business is enjoyed.

Nigel Sadler – Merchanting Director

Our Merchanting operation, selling tiles and related building products to other roofing companies, builders and the public is guided and controlled by Nigel who has worked at the company for over 25 years. His organisational ability in terms of transport and buying are also critically important in supporting the smooth running of the company.
